the team has still not won much money, but it could change quickly because one of their next challenges is something only too familiar...

"Well, you guys just seem to LOVE topic challenges so I figured that one of the challenges this week should have to do with some of the more controversial topics. David, Gina, Jason you three have been chosen because of the viewpoints you have taken in the last few episodes. This challenge requires you guys to agree on something. Challenge #6 requires you guys to come to a consensus on two topics: Abortion and Underage Drinking. For this challenge, the three of you must come to an agreement if you are pro-choice or pro-life and you must come to an agreement if underage drinking doesn't hurt anyone or must be strictly enforced. If you come to an agreement upon only one or neither of the topics, the challenge will be failed. If you do agree on both topics and you can attest to this fact...then the challenge will be won. Note that if it seems as if you are lying just to win the challenge...it may come back to haunt you. This challenge is worth \\$10." –cybermolehost

"I think we should start out by just letting everyone else know where we stand on these topics. #1 I'm definitely pro-choice. #2 I think underage drinking should be enforced. Maybe the age could be lowered a year or two, but I don't want to legalize it for kids younger than that. I think that's dangerous." –jason

"Abortion: Under certain circumstances, yes but I would not call my self pro-choice. Abortion should not be another form of birth control and for a lot of women it is. Underage drinking: I will agree that it needs to be enforced, but I have a real problem with the level of enforcement and we can get into that. What worked in my day would work just fine now and I challenge anyone to prove that all the bullshit government does now has made one bit of difference in the amount of underage drinking and all the consequences that come with it. Kids are going to drink, end of story." –dave

"I have to say that I don't agree with your statement that "alot of women" use abortion as birth control. Yes, it happens, but I don't think it's that prevalent. On the underage drinking, through my work, I see that kids that get in trouble for drinking aren't exactly being punished to the fullest extent. The kids that get picked up for it just get a slap on the wrist, which I think is appropriate." –jason

"I'm Pro-choice too. Usually men are against abortion so I was surprised to see both of you are pro-choice. And......Underage drinking definatly should be enforced." –gina

"I am surprised to hear Gina say, "I am pro choice". I want to know why you are pro-choice. Is it the same old tired arguement that it is a woman's body and her right to do what she wants? I want to know how you feel about being careless, getting pregnant, and having an abortion. Is convenience a reason for abortion?" –dave

"2 of my friends have had abortions. One (Randy) had to have it because of rape. The other girl (Katie) has one (seems like every year) because she doesn't protect herself during sex. I don't support Katie at all but then again its her choice. I used to be Pro-life but after seeing what happened to Randy I changed my mind. I honestly think it was the best choice for her and I don't know what she would of done if she didn't have the choice. I do know abortion was the hardest decision she ever made (I'm sure it is for anyone who has it). Hopefully I will never be in that situation. I honestly don't know what I would do. I'm pro-choice but I don't think I could ever have an abortion myself." –gina

"When I was 14, I stole some of my dad's scotch and met some friends in the woods that had stolen whatever they could get their hands on. We mixed it all together with Kool Aid and had a party. It was the god-awful worst thing I have ever tasted but it was something that most kids do. I don't know why. Maybe to bridge the gap between kid and adult, who knows. I never thought twice about it. Most kids are going to experiment with drinking before the legal age. It is a fact of growing up. Cops used to understand this. If they caught you, they confiscated the booze, made you pour it out, and if you weren't totally blotto they sent you on your way or at worst called your parents and you had to deal with the crap at home. Now, they "arrest" you, you have to either go to court or enter a diversion program. These end up costing the parents between 100-300 dollars and accomplish nothing. Plus, in my community, the school is notified and the kid loses athletic eligibility for 1 year! All because he drank a couple of beers on the weekend. Come on!! Is this necessary? Maybe your community is different but here it is more than a slap on the wrist but all it does is take money from the parents, and make the kid drop out of the types of activities that will help him stay on the straight and narrow. I mean, kids aren't bad because they chose to smoke or have a drink occasionally." –dave

"I disagree that the fines and programs don't help at all though. It gets their attention as well as their parent's. Athletics is somewhat of a privelege, it comes with the territory that you have to be a little more careful as an athlete. You are representing your school and community. But, you're right, one harmless night could cost someone their future. I was in an alcohol related accident when I was 14. I didn't touch alcohol again for 5 years or so. Yes, I was still underage at that point, but by that time I could be responsible with it. I was pretty much scared s***less after the accident. I guess my point is that, unfortunately, kids need to experience consequences before they understand the dangers of things. Just having to go to court or getting a $100 fine is enough for some. Maybe they won't completely stop drinking, maybe they don't need to, but they will probably be more careful about it." –jason

"Rape, Incest, and threats to the mother's life are valid reasons but women like Gina's friend (Katie) that has multiple abortions should either be sterilized or jailed. I am all for the forced sterilization of irresponsible people. The same goes for welfare moms who keep squeezing out babies to collect more money from the government. I guess I would say I am a moderate pro-choice so in that case, I guess we are pretty close to agreement." -dave
