before all the contestants have a chance to arrive and meet each other, the first contestants tackle the challenge at hand to get a jump on the jackpot money. the contestants arrive empty-handed, as they receive no clue nor detail of the challenge. the challenge presents itself as an enigma, as the contestants must work together to figure what the challenge requires.

"I found something while I was checking out some of the different rooms. This was in the "message center" room: ‘...You may ask the host for help, but each question about the challenge will cost you \\$1. This challenge is worth $6, so six questions will nullify the challenge...’ So, I guess we all need to check that page and see if we can make a message out of those segments." –john

"Hey guys this is what I was given-- ’Four contestants have segments that explain challenge #1. The segments must be connected to understand challenge #1.’" –larry

"Mine just says: Challenge #1: The ghost... So I guess we at least know the name of it. It sounds as if Tine's section might come after mine." –annette

"Ok..so..it looks like we've got all our 4 clues, if my not-so-good-at-mathematic brains have counted right, and we're not missing out on something, so summing it up:

-Four contestants have segments that explain challenge #1. The segments must be connected to understand challenge #1.
-You may ask the host for help, but each question about the challenge will cost you $1. This challenge is worth $6, so six questions will nullify the challenge.

"I don't think that first part is one of the segments. I have that same message in my message bin, so we still need one more segment. A few people still haven't shown up, so one of them probably has it. I'm thinking that maybe one person is going to ‘disappear’ or not show up, and we'll have to find them. Just a guess, but it sorta makes sense I guess." –jason

"I think that Jason is right. I think that there is still a part of this challenge missing. How many people are left that haven't posted yet? Dave and who else?" –larry

"The only real clue I see here is "ghost"! Does this mean maybe the cybermole is not appearing at first? Lets see who has yet to post a message??" –stephanie

"Michelle and Daniel are the two who have yet to post." –john

"Isn't there a Jamie too?" –jason

"Sorry, I just realized there are 11 players, not 10." –john

"Granted Jamie, Michelle and Daniel haven't posted at all, we still don't know what Dave had in his message center. That leaves us with three people that may have a piece of the puzzle. Dave, Michelle, Jamie or Daniel could have the key to the puzzle." –larry

"Yup..guess we'll just have to hang around and wait for them *tapping fingers while waiting patiently*" –tine

"This is Dave and I received no puzzle clues. Sorry guys and gals. Maybe Annette, Gina, Jamie, Michelle. I think those are the only ones that haven't posted yet." –dave
