interview with jason
1: How does it feel now that the game is over? relieved or sad...etc?
In one way I'm relieved. It's good to have it over and know that I won. On the other hand, I got pretty used to the whole thing. I'll miss it.
  | |
2: Would you have rather been the cybermole?
Knowing that I won...No, I wouldn't rather have been the cybermole. But I did really want to be the cybermole in the beginning. I think it would have been fun.
  | |
3: Do you feel that anyone had lied to you so that they can win the game or because they wanted to betray you?
Of course people weren't completely truthful. That's the nature of the game. Specifically, I think probably Gina and John weren't always upfront with me. But that's good playing, so I don't feel like I was "betrayed" at all.
  | |
4: Did you like the format of the game and the challenges? Were any of the challenges too difficult or unfair?
I definitely think a couple challenges were too difficult. I didn't think it was fair that we got DQed on the train challenge either. It wasn't fully explained to us, and an easy loophole like that should have been addressed beforehand. The format was good, but like I said in my earlier interview, a chatroom of some sort to talk in real time would have been nice.
  | |
5: Who were your favorite people from the project? And why do you think that they are your favorites? Who do you think you'll keep in touch with after the game ends?
I don't see myself keeping in touch with anyone. I just didn't get that close to anyone. As for my favorites, honestly, everyone was really nice, but I don't feel like I have any basis to be making those kinds of judgments. Everyone's about the same in my mind. Gina and Daniel were the only ones who seemed like they ever wanted to talk to me, until late in the game, so if I had to pick somebody it would be them. The only person that kind of annoyed me was Stephanie. She just came across as not very bright. I'm sure I didn't come across as I really am, so that's probably true for everyone else too. You can't get to know anyone with any depth in this environment.
  | |
6: Were there any moments when you felt that you couldn't trust anyone and when did that happen?
I never thought that I could totally trust anyone. You can't let your guard down in this game. You have to pick and choose when to believe people.
  | |
7: Is there anything you would have done differently in the game
It's hard to say I would, seeing as how I couldn't improve my finishing spot. But I would definitely have taken better notes and kept them. I got rid of my notes after each quiz. I could've used those on the last quiz.
  | |
8: Did the experience change yourself as a person and if so, how?
No, I can't say that the game will change my day to day life in any way.
  | |
9: If you were asked to be the cybermole, would you have done it and how would you have done things differently?
I definitely would be the cybermole, and I would love every minute of it. I think I would do it very similarly to what Larry did. I can't think of anything he did wrong.
  | |
10: Do you think that you had a advantage/disadvantage by not being in an alliance?
It all depends on the type of alliance you're talking about. If you're talking about the kind that John had with Larry, then I definitely had an advantage. Unless you know that the other person is being upfront and you really need each other then an alliance doesn't work. I couldn't find anyone to fit that bill, so it was to my advantage to not be in an alliance.
  | |
11: What was your strategy for playing the game?
Basically, just to lay low, watch and analyze everyone's behavior, and hopefully get some people to become suspicious of me. There were many times I wanted to ask people questions, but I was afraid that that would draw attention to me and cause them to ask questions in turn. I didn't want to tip my cards at all. Every time you do something in this game, it's a possible clue. I basically eliminated everyone but 3 or 4 people as possible cybermoles, within the first couple days. After that, I just concentrated on watching those people.
  | |
12: How do you feel about your fellow contestants and how would you describe him/her?:
I know this sounds like a cop out, but I can't even begin to describe
anyone. I don't know these people even a little bit. Like I said before,
they all seem nice. There's nothing more I can say that I haven't already
said.

  | |
13: What will you do with the money?
I'm sure it will end up going towards beer. Or maybe a ticket to see the Backstreet Boys! They're coming to town next month. :)
  | |
14: Did you ever try to act like the cybermole to fool the others? Do you suspect anyone of trying to act like the cybermole?
Early on I was trying to, but then I decided that not doing anything molish, and not letting people get to know me, would make people suspicious in itself. I know different people were trying to throw suspicions their way at different times. One incident that sticks out is when Annette gave the answers for that maze that me and John tried to get through by guessing her answers. She must have given some strange answers on that one. That was definitely by design. Whether it was because she just wanted the exemption, or she hoped it would get us suspicious.
  | |
15: What was your favorite part of the game?
The challenges. I like to figure out puzzles and stuff. Some of them were a little too hard though. That was frustrating.
  | |
16: If you were given the opportunity to play the cybermole again, would you do it?
Yes. It was fun, challenging stuff. I'd totally just mess with people next time though. Since I won this time, I wouldn't be so worried about winning again. So I'd be all about the comedy. :)
